September 3, 2014 , t'was the day where I finally applied everything that I've researched about Hong Kong and Macau.
The trip was my birthday gift to my Dad and our first family bonding outside the country. Both Mom and Dad are currently based in Japan and took a short trip back to Manila - so the three of us plus menggay sabit altogether flew and left NAIA terminal 3 aboard Cebu Pacific with 0800HR flight bound for Hong Kong . We had a smooth flight and touch down HK Airport as per schedule.
BOARDING TIME.. |
It's a one and a half to two hours flight from Manila to Hongkong. We arrived in Hongkong at exactly 10:00 HR and boarded Citiflyer A21 Bus from Airport to Tsim Sha Tsui where we stayed for one week.
You shouldn't worry about your drop off station as per the station will be announced and to be seen in the monitor as such |
One can purchase ticket from Citiflyer counter near the bus terminus for 33HKD or purchase OCTOPUS Card for 150 HKD. The card is more convenient and very useful in taking any form of transportation around HK . eg. MTR , Buses, Trams and can even use to purchase items from 7 Eleven or use the card to pay meals in Mdconalds , Popeye's , etc. |
The ride took 45 minutes to reach our destination Tsim Sha Tsui as the 13th stop from the airport
Approaching Tshing Ma Bridge
Tsim Sha Tsui. Finally reached our destination!!! Yehey |
TRAVEL TIPS : Exchange few of your $ or Php from the airport if you must purchase transportation expenses from the airport to your destination . One can get a better exchange rate outside the airport which we did as we exchanged our $ in Chungking Mansion just near our accommodation. |
After dropping all our luggage's in room .We looked for a place to eat around the area and our feet brought us to Golden Lake Restaurant in front of Kowloon park near Silvercord Mall
Order's Complete.. |
And for our dessert, we bought breads and cakes from this bakeshop near Kowloon park
Delisyoso looking cakes. Good thing di ako mahilig sa matamis |
Pork Chop Bun which is popular in Macau |
We took nap after our late lunch and wandered aimlessly around Avenue of Stars and Mongkok that evening
the magnificent hong kong skyline |
.
One of the best thing that Hong Kong has to offer is their efficient and tourist friendly MTR
HK MTR map (google image). One just need to memorize the color of each line. However , mostly the Tsuen Wan (Red ) and Island Line ( Blue ) are the important lines to consider because most of the tourist spots and major shopping areas around HK are found in any of these 2 MTR lines. |
MTR signs you will find everywhere in HK.. |
Stations are shown even inside the TRAIN ..so don't worry just sit back and enjoy the ride!! |
Just look and follow arrow signs in your MTR line destination |
try to avoid rush hours as so many people are taking the MTR train |
We took the MTR Tsuen Wan Line ( Red ) from Tshim Sha Tsui Station to Mongkok Station and Exit ( E2) for Ladies Market, Exit ( C )for Langham Place where huge H and M store is located and Exit (D )for Argyle Center .. You just need a little bit of walking though!!!
shining shimmering splendid road of Mongkok ..We did a lot of Shopping and Moseying in this place |
Ladies Market. Don't forget to haggle ..haggle..haggle in this place.
