1. KINKAKUJI TEMPLE ( GOLDEN PAVILION)
The first temple in my itinerary for Kyoto. Kinkakuji temple is one of the many temples and shrines in Kyoto prefecture. The temple is completely covered in gold and set against a lush green background making it a picturesque site and among the most photographed place in Kyoto by visitors and locals alike.

6. GION DISTRICT
Probably the most well known district in Kyoto. Gion is known for its numerous traditional wooden houses , exclusive Japanese restaurants , teahouses , cultural show , and Geishas.
One of many reasons why tourists flock the place is because of these Geishas where the hundred years old Japanese women entertaining tradition still exists. Just wandering around the area and chances are you'll glimpse a geisha wearing their exquisite make up and kimono . I was lucky enough that I saw not one but four Geishas when I visited Gion district.
How to get there:
- take bus no 100 or 206 from Kyoto station and get off at Gion bus stop.
- take train and alight at Gion Shijo station ( Keihan Line ) Kawaramachi station ( Hankyu Line)
