My Passport Renewal at DFA Alabang

After five long years , my passport although still valid till December 2014 was renewed last May 2014. I was given a month in my scheduled leave for processing.

The procedure was smooth as long as you have all the documents needed and of course your confirmed appointment ( one can set an appointment to any DFA offices online : http://www.passport.com.ph/choose-branch ). I choose their satellite south  office located at the 4th floor of Metro Mall Alabang Town Center. The location is convenient near my place and  inside the mall facility so definitely no sweat for me !!..

You need to be present at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment. It is however recommended for the applicants to wear decent attire with collar and close shoes. No slippers!!!!!!!!!!!!

On with the requirements . Philippine passport holders for renewal must bring the following:

  1. Most recent expiring or expired passport
  2. Confirmed appointment.
  3. Valid picture ID's and supporting documents ( List of ID's accepted ) ( List of Accepted Supporting Documents )
  4. Personal Appearance
  5. No need to bring a passport size photo

I have an appointment with them at 10:00 AM and obviously as an early bird I was at the vicinity an hour to set my goal of completing everything before lunch. ( ayoko naman maubos time ko dito  the whole day)

As usual, I was on  queue of first row of applicants. Shown my confirmed appointment schedule to the guard and inside at the office front was the assessment desk where you will be given a number after they've checked everything from the requirements you brought.

Second phase is the window for the submission and payment . This is also the right time for you to discuss when would you like to receive your passport ( Express - 10 days , Regular - 21 days ). From this window you're old passport will be punchered subject for invalid use.

The next step is for the applicant to fill up a form to be handed to the staff for encoding. Once finished , they will ask you to double check everything as per the information you have written is exactly the same information that will appear in you're new passport. ( Actually hinde lang double check ginawa ko dito paulit ulit na sinigurado ko talaga ..ayoko ng hassle pagdating s mga documents ko). Also, an applicant will be taken a photo although obvious na pipiktyuran ka since may camera sa harap mo. No smiling and no earrings for the ladies and gents.

Voila ..yun lang yung whole process. From your receipt it shows kung what day and time mo makukuha yung passport mo and inside you can have it delivered through courier. Yun nga lang you must pay the corresponding delivery fee ( I forgot how much mga nasa 120 pesos yata ).

I personally took it from the date and time mentioned sa invoice ko.

I appreciated the fact that DFA have these branches for much easy way to apply or renew passports. I was inside the facility at 10 am and just after an hour. I'm DONE!!..How smooth was that!!

Bashishay LECTURES @ work in AFRICA

This is just to share to everyone the summary of the CPR and Rescue Breathing that I made to simply understand the techniques and sequence in order to provide the best possible emergency rescue in an unconscious victim whom can be a family member , relative ,a friend , neighbor or just a bystander.

When we get into an emergency situation where you don't know what to do is scary for an individual. Good thing that I had my BLS training from Rescue Academy as per 2010 American Heart Association last January 2013.

A registered nurse and emergency medical technician by profession . I've been teaching employees whom submitted themselves to learn and become first aiders here at my workplace . It is overwhelming that in the simplest modest way I have shared my knowledge and experiences in terms of emergency rescue.
