JAPAN KAWAII TRAVEL 1.0 : ARRIVAL AT NARITA AIRPORT JAPAN TO DOWNTOWN TOKYO

My childhood dream finally came true.. yehey <3

As early as my childhood years , Japan has always been my dream destination and to finally see the Land of the Rising Sun with my own eyes is something I will forever be grateful and thankful for. The fusion of fast paced modernity, cultural Buddhist tradition , the politeness of people ,the beautiful tourist sites and landmarks, mouth watering  Japanese cuisine, and plenty of exciting array of vending machines makes this country a place like no other.

When I finally arrived at Narita airport , it seems surreal that I really set foot in Japan. It was a fleeting moment for me as we disembarked from the plane.

The international airport is located someway from the centre of Tokyo. As with most international airports, one can easily find currency exchanges , mobile phone rentals and local sim card stores. But only in Japan you can see plenty of vending machines even inside the airport vicinity with an array of hot and cold beverages and canned coffees. I bet Japan can also be called the land of vending machines. You can see it everywhere all through out Japan.

I cleared everything from immigration to customs and had my exchange order voucher of Japan rail pass to the actual pass before boarding Narita Express bound to Shinjuku where my hotel is situated.

There are several options to get to downtown Tokyo with the most travelers choosing the Airport Limousine Bus or Narita Express. I chose the latter because armed with my  Japan rail pass ; the ticket and seat reservation was free of charge.

My hotel is located in Nishi Shinjuku area , west exit of  Shinjuku Station . Apparently it would have been a difficult situation if I chose to get to my hotel with local train as for the stations are a bit far from one another and walking and going up and down the stairs would have been very exhausting with my luggage along. I preferred to take the Southern Terrace exit from Shinjuku Station just upstairs the Narita Express Platform and rode a taxi from the terminal and payed 800 YEN for convenience.

TOKYU STAY NISHI SHINJUKU..I Love this Hotel

The months of preparation and research of finding the best hotel and how to get my way thru the dense lines of trains and subways all around Tokyo was all paid off . As a first timer in Japan, I was happy with my chosen area in Tokyo and navigating trains was a breeze . That's the power of being prepared before indulging on a trip abroad.

That's it for now and watch out for my forthcoming Japan blog posts.. xo xo xo :)
